Cambridge is centrally located, approximately an hour's drive from Tauranga or Rotorua, or an hour and a half to Auckland or Taupo, and twenty minutes from Hamilton. Cambridge is a quaint village with lots of restaurants, and antiques & craft stores, and is known as the Town Of Trees. The region is famed for its horse stud breeding, and we would be happy to arrange a tour of some of the better known Studs in the area.
Maungakawa Road is located only a few kilometres from the main centre of Cambridge. The nearby Maungakawa Scenic Reserve contains spectacular native bush and features a variety of our native birds. There is a choice of bush walk tracks, or you can just sit at the top of the hill and take in the scenery and view.
A short drive takes you to the Maungatautari "Inland Island", an award winning predator free reserve, where rare and endangered native birds are being re-introduced.
Huntington Stables is also conveniently close (10 mins.) to Hamilton Airport, and transfers can be arranged if required.
Mystery Creek, home of Field Days, and many other events throughout the year, is also only a 10 minute drive away.
Fifteen minutes along SH1, and you will arrive at Lake Karapiro. A popular venue for various water based activities, especially Rowing. Huntington Stables has plenty of off street private parking for boats, rowing skiffs, trailors etc. for your added convenience.
